Upgrade OS Android

How To Upgrade OS Android Samsung Galaxy Fit from Froyo to Gingerbread?

Since you do not understand everything about how to upgrade the OS to Android, the post I will discuss on How to Upgrade OS Android Samsung Galaxy Fit from Froyo to Gingerbread?

What is OS? OS is an Operating System that is used on a device, such as Android we are discussing today. In addition to Android there are also Windows, Linux, etc. that I can not mention one by one. Well, but is it possible for us to upgrade it? Whats own upgrade? Upgrade is a step in which we will enhance the ability of the OS we are using today to a newer operating sysytem, in this case I upgrade from OS Froyo to Gingerbread for Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670.

Steps Upgrade OS Android Samsung Galaxy Fit from Froyo to Gingerbread:
1. Prepare in advance the tools we need. As ODIN Multidownloader, File .ops, and firmware that we use.
2. If you do not already have it, please download ODIN Multidownloader and file .Ops for Samsung Galaxy Fit here
(for file .opsnya different for each devices). For the firmware you can find yourself well. Here I only explain a few steps alone.
3. After you download all the equipment, first open your Multidownloader ODIN. Then insert the file .Ops in place, and check One Package (if you use the One Package, if not leave it alone).
4. Then Enter the firmware into place, (File firmware berkestensi. Tar, if still in the first extract rar please.)
5. Then once everything is ready, plug the phone.
Download your favorite Android in by pressing the Mode Down, Home, Power simultaneously. After appearing in yellow on the upper left Multidownloader ODIN and it was a sign already detect it, please click on START
6. Never unplug the cable from your computer, because it would thwart the upgrade process and the risks that occur on their own responsibility.
7. Wait until the process is complete. Highlighted in yellow on the upper left ODIN became blue. Completed.

Samsung Galaxy Tab
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the new and revised version of the Galaxy Tab series sporting a dual-core processor and 10.1″ inch screen for your viewing pleasure. With the rise of Android tablets and the constant comparison to the iPad platform, it’s hard to determine which devices really stand out from the rest. The power of Honeycomb packed into this incredibly light and incredibly thin tablet: Is it enough to bring your wallet out to buy it? Let’s take a look in-depth at the features and determine if value equals or exceeds cost.

The advantages of this Tablet:
1. Thinner and lighter than most tablets.
2. Large screen for your viewing pleasure.
3. Dual-core processor to pack the punch needed for power-hungry apps and games.
4. Rear camera and 720p HD camcorder, front camera for video calling/chatting.
5. Pre-installed with Honeycomb to give the true tablet experience.
6. Long battery life, surprisingly.
7. Tegra 2, allowing you to experience the best games available on the Market.

Disadvantages of this Tablet:
1. Lacking ports for accessories.
2. Proprietary Samsung connector requires shelling out more money.

Design:
Samsung really did a number with this one. The new series of Galaxy Tabs are absolutely stunning in design. When holding the 10.1 for the first time, it almost feels unreal as to how light the final product turned out while packing all the power that’s built into the Galaxy Tab. It weighs in at 1.25 lbs which is even lighter than iPad 2 at 1.33 lbs. Carrying the device around is very easy and presents no problem at all. The downside is that if not handled properly, could easily be dropped and possible break the Tab. The 10.1 is also thinner than the iPad 2 by merely 0.01 inches. It might not seem like a lot, but Apple has always had the upper-hand in physical design from a portability standpoint.

The screen’s resolution is amazing. Pictures were viewed crystal clear and videos looked astonishing. If you’re into entertainment (YouTube, videos, movies, gaming) this screen is a blessing. My only gripe was that the screen isn’t as view-able in direct sunlight as I hoped it to be. Nevertheless, yet again Tab vs iPad 2, the Tab is winning 3 to 0 with a higher resolution screen. Imagine full 1080p HD playback that can fit in your hands.

The proprietary Samsung connector at the bottom was another surprise I hadn’t expected. I felt, in all opinion, that this was a way for Samsung to continue gaining residual income by providing exclusive accessories that are not compatible with over devices. They released a few new accessories recently including the keyboard dock, HDTV adapter, multimedia dock, and (in my opinion their savior) the USB adapter. The adapter will allow you to connect all types of devices such as keyboards, mice, thumb drives, and more.

Features:
Most of the gadgets youd expect in this clever device:
* Bluetooth 3.0
* Wifi a/b/g/n support, dual-band
* GPS Support (A-GPS)
* Sensors galore! (Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Ambient light sensor)
* Full Adobe Flash support
* 1GHZ dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor
* 3.5mm stereo headphone jack

The Tab also features two cameras, one 3 megapixel camera on the rear and a 2 megapixel on the front. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with the camera quality on this device. I expected more from such a high-end device that Samsung has spent the money to market the Tab as. If you’re a photography enthusiast, don’t count on the Tab as a formidable replacement. If you are into taking quick pictures, this may do the trick for you. Video calls using the front-facing camera were crisp and easy to view on the receiving end.

The Touchwiz UI gives a nice touch to the interface while still keeping the true Honeycomb experience alive. Android manufacturers have been known to twist the experience to their liking in the past. Thankfully, I didn’t feel that Samsung was as invasive in the overall day-to-day usage of the Tab. This was comforting considering I could pick up another Honeycomb tablet and still, for the most part, receive the same UI experience I received on the Tab. Small successes like this help begin the reduction of fragmentation that has well plagued the Android eco-system.

One of the best features of Honeycomb is the Gmail experience. Gmail on Honeycomb is how it should have been on Android all along. The visual display of labels, emails, and folders is designed for your maximum viewing pleasure. No other app on the market!

Samsung Apps:
As part of the Samsung experience, the newest line of Galaxy Tab’s feature a few new apps:

Readers Hub: Access to books, magazines, and publications right at your fingertips.
Music Hub: Explore your music or become introduced to new music through the app
Social Hub: Remember the Blackberry experience combining email and text messaging into one? Samsung takes it one step further with adding social networking into one easy-to-use portal
I didn’t get a chance to use these apps due to the version of the 10.1 Tab that was given for review, however, as part of the Touchwiz experience I expect it to be elegant and seamless with the interface of the Tab.

Performance and Battery Life:
The battery (un-removable) packed under the sleek and stylish case is expected to last 9 hours watching HD video and 72 hours of music. Personally, I went the entire week with the Tab only charging it twice with moderate use (some gaming, web browsing, and app testing). That’s pretty impressive. It’s necessary for folks who aren’t near a charger for the majority of the day. Travel folks, on-the-go business professionals, educators…this battery makes the cut.

The power of the dual-core certainly shows when using particularly high-quality apps, viewing Flash-packed websites, and multi-tasking without a flinch.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy S3 is getting to be an ‘older’ device when you consider the rate at which new devices are being pumped out of the smartphone and tablet mill, this phone still tops the charts and is one of our users favorites, coming even before the Galaxy S4. Today we are presenting you with some cool, perhaps borderline gimmicky, but nonetheless interesting and often forgotten features found in your Galaxy S3 that you might not have know about.

Record and store from FM tuner

Granted, listening to the radio isn’t so popular anymore considering you can get music streaming from Spotify or Stereomood among the many other services, but radio has less of a draining impact on your battery not to mention doesn’t use your mobile data. If you don’t have a ton of songs already saved onto your phone, radio is a good option and it won’t use up so much of your internal storage either. You can also record FM radio and store it onto your internal memory and if so desired, archive it on your computer.

Blocking Mode

The worst is getting notifications in the middle of the night when you are just trying to get a decent night’s sleep. The Galaxy S3 has a Blocking Mode that you can switch on or off in the settings of your phone under the Device subcategory. By tapping on ‘Blocking mode’ you will be able to customize what you would like to block, whether it is incoming calls, notifications, alarms, timers or LED indicators, either for all the time or a specific period of time. You can, however, ensure that emergency calls get through to you at any point in time by choosing ‘allowed contacts’.

Face Unlock

Though this isn’t the most secure way to lock your smartphone, it could be used in addition to the swipe or PIN if you so wish and setting it up is easy to do. Under Settings, you will need to go into ‘Lock screen’ and choose ‘Screen lock’. Tapping on this will prompt you to confirm with your current screen lock choice and then give you a list of various ways of unlocking your phone as well as indicating which ones are the most safe. By going through the steps as directed and holding the device at eye level to fit your head within the form on screen, you can set it up so that your Galaxy S3 will recognize you. It might mistake a similar looking person however, so if you are worried about your content, you might want to stick with another, more secure locking method.

Easy Mode for your home screen

If you are buying a Samsung Galaxy S3 for the first time, and are a beginner user, it might be a good idea to switch the user interface mode for your home screen to easy. What this will do is give you bigger, blockier icons on your home screen in order to make your apps and the other functions more visible. To get into this ‘Easy mode’, go into the settings of your phone and under the subcategory ‘Device’, choose ‘Home Screen mode’ and choose which mode you would prefer, and finally, apply. Once you feel more comfortable, you can always switch it back with the same steps.

Edit videos in Video Player

If you’ve shot a video and want to trim it down a little bit, you can do this right from the video editor, without the use of an external app from the Google Play Store. When a video is playing, tap on the menu button and choose trim. You can then choose which parts to trim out and which to keep.

Using a thirdparty app is not required, you can trim your own videos right in Video Player. © AndroidPIT

Video overlay

Multitasking with the Galaxy S3 can be done in many different ways, like with Multi Window for example. Another way is having a video from Video Player play in a small window over the top of your home screen, or while browsing the web, texting with friends and so on. The way to do this is to go into the video that you would like to view, then select the icon on the bottom right corner. This will launch the video on the home screen where you can start doing something else simultaneously. Tapping on the video will bring up the ‘X’ to close it.

Remote wipe your phone with remote control

The Galaxy S3 is really loved, as mentioned in the intro, which may lead to more people wanting to steal it unfortunately. In order to locate the device as well as make sure that no one gets your private and personal information, you can perform a complete wipe of your phone’s data remotely. You need to have preemptively signed up for your Samsung account and set up a password, which you can do from your phone when you are initially setting it up. If your phone gets stolen or misplaced, sign on to the Samsung website www.samsungdive.com and here you will be able to locate your mobile phone, lock it, make it ring, forward messages or calls, see call logs, wipe your mobile as well as unlock your screen (the last one is handy if you have forgotten your own lock screen password). You can find the current location of your lost device and track its movement over 15 minute intervals for 12 hours, though this could cost you.

Thanks to your Samsung account, you will be able to locate your lost or stolen device and erase its contents. © AndroidPIT

Jelly Bean Surprise!

This isn’t a real feature, just something shiny and pretty to do once. Simply go into the settings of your phone, and find ‘About device’ right at the bottom of the list. In ‘About Device’ tap several times on the Android version to launch an animation of the large smiling jelly bean. Long pressing on the JB will cause it to explode, causing a whole jumble of jelly beans to erupt onto the screen which you can flick around. It’s a one-time gimmick to ‘impress’ your friends.

Samsung Galaxy S3 (Root, Recovery and Custom ROMs)

Introduction:

After the Samsung Galaxy S3 was released, there were many rooting tools introduced into the market due to its increase in demand. Rooting the OS can help us do many custom operations like unlocking, customization of apps, different ROMs, custom kernels etc. Once you root your mobile, you can have better custom control over it where you can perform lot of operations. It is a tricky process and should be carefully carried out. If the processes are not followed exactly that might leave the phone damaged and dead.
While rooting the phone, make sure you are doing the processes safely by following the steps below. By rooting the phone, you are actually removing the mobile OS restrictions from the internal system of your device. After you finish rooting on your device, you can have complete access to the operating system and the internal system of your device.
Once rooted, you can customize your device’s system to,
  • Install custom apps,
  • Remove internal built-in apps,
  • Modify internal settings,
  • Add Custom recovery feature,
  • Install Custom ROM firmware,
  • Unlock you mobile.
So, with all these options after rooting we will be able to customize, optimize and power up the performances of your smartphone.

Rooting ~ step by step procedure:

Rooting process is the basis for any further customization options like creating recovery image, loading custom ROMs, and etc.
  1. Download the root folder from the following link and save it on your computer.
  2. On your preferred location, extract files from the archive.
  3. On your phone, navigate to Menu -> Settings -> Security and enable the “Unknown Sources” option.
  4. On your phone, enable the USB Debugging option from Menu -> Settings -> Developer options -> USB Debugging.
  5. Connect your device to the computer and transfer the folder to your device.
  6. Double click on RootDebugfs.bat file.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The rooting is done, once the above execution is completed.

Installing clockwordmod recovery ~ step by step procedure:

Once your device is rooted based on above instructions, the clockworkmod recovery can be installed on your phone. Ensure that you have at least 60% of battery prior to installing this recovery procedure.
  1. Download and install the ROM Manager app on your device using this Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager
  2. Launch the ROM Manager.
  3. Click the option named, “Flash ClockworkMod Recovery”.
  4. It’ll bring up a screen with the list of compatible devices, tap on your device name.
  5. The recovery will now be downloaded and installed on your device.
This procedure successfully installs the Clockworkmod recovery on your S3.
Samsung Galaxy S3 (Root, Recovery and Custom ROMs)

Creating a custom recovery image ~ Step by Step procedure:

After rooting an S3, custom recovery images can be created, as all Android systems have a recovery partition. This recovery image can later be used if the OS has crashed and to reflash the OS for device recovery.
  1. Launch the ROM Manager that you installed in the previous step and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and choose your device.
  2. When you select the Superuser prompt, choose the “Grant” option.
  3. The recovery image is created after it displays “Successfully flashed”.

Loading Custom ROMs ~ Step by step procedure:

Only if the device is rooted and a recovery image is created based on the steps mentioned above, Custom ROMs can be flashed into the device. All the different types of ROMs developed have their own differences, so try few and find which the best based on your usage.
  • Select the ROM that you prefer based on your S3, then download it as a .zip file to your computer.
  • Once downloaded, copy the .zip file without extracting, to the device’s SD card.
  • Disconnect the device from the computer and open ROM Manager from your apps.
  • Select the Reboot into Recovery option and the device would start rebooting after that.
  • After entering into the recovery mode following the reboot process, use the volume buttons to navigate(selecting through options) and power button to select Backup and Recovery.
  • Choose the Backup option and select yes for confirmation. This might take some time so you’ll have to wait till it completes.
  • Select Wipe Data / Factory option ->Select Flash zip from sdcard.
Samsung Galaxy S3 (Root, Recovery and Custom ROMs)
  • Select the copied zip(ROM) file from sdcard and choose it. Click yes for confirmation and wait for the process to finish flashing.
  • Once it has finished flashing, Select Reboot System Now. It is the newly flashed ROM after the reboot is done.
